Mission Units responded to the above location regarding a Burglary in progress.  Upon arrival they met with the victims who stated they heard loud noises coming from the front entrance and called the police immediately.  A report was taken; additional units searched the area for potential suspects with negative results.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120381578

0210 Hours                 Loitering/Prostitution                       400 Block of Capp St
A Mission Unit on patrol spotted a known prostitute loitering.  Upon observing her actions for several minutes, the Officers took her into custody.  Officers documented very clearly the suspects willingness to continue to Prostitute in this area regardless if she arrested.  Based on statements by the suspect and previous actions, Officers requested the District Attorney pursue a stay away order from the above area.  Case # 120381493

The victim reported to Mission Units that he was walking down the street when he was struck from behind in the head by an unknown object.  Sensing he was in danger, the victim ran away.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120379426

1040 Hours                 Fraud                                     3300 Block of Cesar Chavez
A Mission Unit responded to the above location regarding a counterfeit bill.  Upon arrival the Officer interviewed all parties, took possession of the counterfeit bills, documented the incident then notified the United States Secret Service who took over the investigation.  Case # 120379761

1540 Hours                 Robbery with Force              2100 Block of Market St
Mission Units responded to the above area regarding a robbery.  Upon arrival they were able to detain the suspect after several witnesses pointed in the direction which he fled.  The victim told responding officers that he was listening to his I-Phone on the train when it was snatched out of his hand.   Several witnesses helped police track down the suspect who was taken into custody.  The suspect was arrested on several felonies.  Case # 120380445

Mission Units responded to the above area and took a Burglary Report.  Upon investigating the incident it was determined a suspect had gained access to the flat through a possible roof entrance.  Several items were taken from the flat including electronic equipment and jewelry.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120379266

The victim came to Mission Station and filed a report regarding the theft of his rental vehicle, keyboard and cell phone he left on the front seat.  He told the Officer taking the report that he left the keys in the ignition when he parked the vehicle.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120376842

Officers responded to the above area to take a report of a possible shooting.  Upon arrival they spoke with the resident who stated that he found a bullet hole in his home.  The incident was documented and any possible evidence was removed from the apartment.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120378230

    This past week the Mission District hosted two major events.  The first was the Cinco de Mayo music and cultural fair in Dolores Park.  Thousands of people flocked to Dolores Park on what turned out to be a beautiful day.  Park goers enjoyed live music until 6pm. Police made four public intoxication arrests during the day.  This was a small number given the thousands of spectators.  

    On Sunday, May 6th, the Mission District hosted the first of four Sunday Streets.  The event started off rocky with a four alarm fire on at Valencia and Duboce on the Northern end of the route.  Susan King and her staff at Sunday Streets acted quickly and shortened the route by a block due to the fire.  Tens of thousands of people poured onto the route and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the Mission.  We did not make any arrests related to the event, but we did reunite a few lost children with their parents.  We hope that our future Sunday Streets are as smooth and enjoyable as the first one.

Multiple Mission Units responded to a call for service regarding a Burglary.  Upon arrival they met with a resident of the building who said he saw two suspicious people loitering around the property.  Upon confronting the suspects they fled in an unknown direction.  The resident inspected the security door and discovered it was damaged.

0359 Hours                 Narcotics                                100 Block of Diamond St
A Mission Unit stopped a suspicious looking person who was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk.  Upon detaining the suspect, Officers discovered he was on Court Probation with a search condition.  The suspect had narcotics paraphernalia and methamphetamine in his possession.  Furthermore the suspect had a warrant for his arrest.  The suspect was later booked at County Jail on several offenses.  Case # 120373412

A Mission Unit on a patrol detained a person for littering.  Upon conducting a wants and warrants check, it was discovered that the person had no bail warrant from the Alameda County’s Sheriff’s Office.  The suspect was booked at County Jail.  Case # 120370515

0443 Hours                 Burglary/Malicious Mischief                        3800 Block of 19th St
Several Mission Units responded to the above area regarding a Trespasser/Burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, units met with the victim who stated she called police after her neighbor alerted her that someone was trying to break in to the complex.  The victim went to the front door and saw what appeared to be a male with an orange bike leaving the complex.  Mission units later detained a suspect in a nearby neighborhood which matched the description given by the victim.  Because the victim did not see the face of the intruder the detainee was set free.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120370537

2300 Hours                 Malicious Mischief/Vandalism         4000 Block of 18th St
A Mission unit took a report regarding vandalism to a restaurant.  Someone had scratched the word SAT into the front door of the restaurant.  The entire incident was documented and is now under investigation.  Case # 120371488

The victim came into Mission Station to file a report regarding credit card theft.  The victim told the Officer that he was attempting to use his credit card at the above location when it was declined.  The victim was later notified he had several fraudulent charges pending on this credit card account.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120369148

A Mission Unit on patrol spotted a known prostitute loitering.  Upon initiating a conversation with the suspect the Officers determined based on her past and her voluntary statements that she would continue to engage in illegal activity, she was taken into custody and booked for being a public nuisance.  Case # 120364574

A Mission Unit stopped a vehicle for running a red light in the above area.  Upon making contact with the driver, it was discovered he did not have a driver license or any other form of identification.  The vehicle was picked up by the driver’s friend who had a valid license and the driver was taken to Mission Station for identification purposes, cited and then released.  Case # 120364621

1818 Hours                 Shoplifter/Fugitive From Justice     2000 Block of Market St
Security Officers at the above location detained a person for attempting to steal several boxes of soap and toothpaste.  A Mission Unit took over the investigation and discovered  the suspect security detained had a no bail warrant for narcotics.  The suspect was later booked at County Jail.  Case # 120366978

Mission Units responded to the above area and were able to immediately take into custody the reported suspect who was breaking into vehicles.  The suspect had several tools for the purpose of defeating vehicle doors locks and several pieces of stolen merchandise.  A wants and warrants check revealed the suspect had an outstanding Felony warrant for robbery.  The suspect was later booked at County Jail.  Case # 12035925

Mission  Units responded to the above area and investigated an assault.  Based on the victim’s statement along with several witnesses, Officers were able to take the suspect into custody.  The suspect was later booked on felony assault charges.  The victim suffered non life threatening injuries.  Case # 120359105

The victim reported to Officers that he was walking down the street when a dog ran over and bit him.  When the victim asked the owner for her information, the dog owner, with the dog, ran away.  Investigation is ongoing.  Case # 120352165
