The Cesar Chavez Parade and Festival marked the start of our event season here in the Mission District. Next weekend the Mission will host the Cinco de Mayo cultural festival in Dolores Park on Saturday, May 5, as well as the first of four Sunday Streets beginning on Sunday, May 6.
Sunday Streets is presented by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency and Livable City. The program provides temporary recreational spaces for residents and visitors by closing select city streets to vehicular traffic. This year’s route will run on Valencia from 14th Street to 24th Street and 24th Street between Hampshire and Valencia. The event will run from 11 AM to 4 PM. Sunday Streets is an alcohol free event.
