Officers who serve the residents and businesses of the Mission District are committed to building a safer community by utilizing tools and resources as well as public education to bring safety awareness to everyone. Empowering people with information and to take an active role in problem solving has raised safety awareness and reduced the opportunity for criminals.
The Mission District is the heart of the city and we often have pleasant weather ranging to the mid 80ºs. During these spells, to adjust our comfort level inside our homes, people often leave windows and doors open during the night ― a burglar’s opportunity. Half of residential burglaries are UNFORCED entries.
As a reminder, secure all windows and doors upon leaving your residence to reduce criminal opportunity and increase the strength of your neighborhood and the community as a whole.
Additional information to empower your neighborhood to be more resilient is available from Project SAFE at www.sfsafe.org.
Have a great weekend,
